Max just saw “The Wrestler“, and it kicks ass. Mickey Rourke is the shit, there are cameos from numerous Ring of Honor wrestlers, and Marisa Tomei shows her boobs. What’s not to like? Seriously though, this is easily one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.
At this point, I don’t think anything short of prohibition will destroy the craft beer movement. It will be interesting to taste this beer and observe its impact on the beverage market. Early reports state that this offering is exactly what you’d expect from AB: a clean, consistent, average beer which sticks to style guidelines. It reminds me of the Chipotle chain: it’s better than Taco Bell, not as good as your local burrito place, it’s owned by McDonalds, but I don’t mind going there sometimes.
Not that I’m completely hating on this beer. It could turn out to be a great introduction to different styles and flavors of beer for a lot of people. It’s highly doubtful that it will take much, if any, market share away from craft brewers and premium imports. My guess is that this will mimic the euro-lager/pilsener attempt “Budweiser Select.” It will have a huge opening with a lot of ad support and a big marketing campaign; and will eventually settle into its quiet place in the cooler next to the other Bud and Michelob products.
Max has mentioned in a previous podcast the greatness of WWF No Mercy for the N64. This is considered one of, if not the best, wrestlingvideo games of all time. Many of countless hours have been spent by myself and my friends competing in this game, which we still do to this day 8 years later. Now why am I talking about an old game, well our friends at The No Mercy Zone have been around for a few years allowing users to download roms based off of this games engine. You can play as an updated WWE roster, TNA wrestlers, ROH wrestlers and many other Japanese and independent organizations as well. If you have the space on your computer and dedication to get everything up, you will not be disappointed with the results. I will recommend an N64 to PC controller adapter as well. Below are some videos featuring TNA and ROH talent.
