When it comes to modern comic artists, a personal favorite of mine is Tom Scioli.  I absolutely love Godland, the Image comic that he does with Joe Casey.  I was very pleasantly suprised when I recently found out that two of Tom’s creations, 8-Opus and American Barbarian are now available in serialized web comic form!
