Craft Brewers Conference and World Beer Cup!

April 13, 2010

It came, I saw, I got shnockered. The Craft Brewers Conference and World Beer Cup arrived in Chicago last week, and Nerd City was there for pics!

The opening night “gala” @ the Field Museum totally ruled. Our good buddies/sponsor Piece Brewery was there, and their pizza was a total hit.

The conference featured seminars all weekend, and brewers from all over the country (and world) came to compete in the largest beer competition in history, the World Beer Cup. Special congrats goes out to Piece brewer Jonathan Cutler, who won a cup for South German-Style Hefeweizen for his Top Heavy Hefeweizen, which is radical. With 642 breweries from 44 countries and 47 U.S. states vying for awards and 3,330 beers entered in 90 beer style categories, that is no easy feat. Cutler and Piece bringing the heat!

See all the winners here!

Also, Piece still has some of their Three Floyds collabo beer, Marketing Ploy available, and it is fucking delicious. Plus, check out how rad their promotional poster is!

Seriously. Is there anything this brewery can’t do?

Seems a bit ill-advised to house a bunch of drunks in a museum full of priceless artifacts, doesn’t?

Or perhaps, my friends, I’ve just conceived a plot to what could be one of the funniest films ever made. Get me Owen Wilson’s agent!

Max, congrats on your job at the Chicago Tribune.
