Nintendo update including New Mario and Castlevania

October 21, 2009

Lots of news coming from the Nintendo front today.

Castlevania Screen
First, Konami has confirmed a October 27th release, in Japan, for Castlevania: Rebirth. No “official” date for America yet, but if it’s like how Konami released Contra: Rebirth then we should get Castlevania the same day or a day or two later. Another interesting note is that Castlevania: Rebirth has multiple control schemes including Wiimote held like a NES controller, Wii Classic Controller, Gamecube Controller and Wiimote/Nunchuck combination…unfortunately no 1:1 whip control.

Next, our friends at have provided a nice preview piece for New Super Mario Bros. Wii detailing additional gameplay modes and multi player in general. NSMB Wii will be released on November 15th.

And finally for those of you who paid 500 Wii points to download the Wii internet channel, Nintendo has made the channel free to download for everyone so you should be receiving 500 free Wii points towards the purchase of a NES game added to your account. All you need to do is launch the Wii shop channel and you should see a message to redeem your free points.
