N00bz Vinyl Platform Figure from Blizzard and Big Shot Toyworks

August 22, 2009

So, Blizzcon is going on right now.  It’s a 2 day convention celebrating all of Blizzard Entertainment’s properties, including World of Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo. Fine enough, but what really intrigues me is the launch of Big Shot Toyworks and Blizzard’s new 6″ vinyl platform figures, The N00bz.

Blame Kid Robot, blame Hasbro’s Mighty Muggs, but this is a bandwagon that everyone seems to be jumping on these days. I’ve got to say, though, that I really, really dig the design of this N00bz figure.  It looks like a badass, stylized action figure with plenty of customizable blank areas as opposed to another baby-with-big-pants shape.

Pictured above is the Starcraft Marine Raynor N00b, but also available are:

Ghoulash N00b

Murloc Madness N00b

Fury of Ragnaros N00b

And coolest of all is this blank, DIY Marine N00b.  Want.

I just realized that it reminds me a bit of Warhammer 40K Space Marine Terminator armor. That’s a good thing.
