2019 According to Microsoft….Still No Hover Boards

March 2, 2009

This video comes courtesy of Microsoft from the Wharton Business Technology Conference.  Just like in Back to the Future II, some of this shit will not be here by the promised date (still got 6 years for that hover board Mattel!).  Still, it’s always fun to look at what a large technology company thinks the future will hold.  A lot of what’s shown here really doesn’t seem that far off (multi-touch, Surface interface, OLED screens), but lets not kid ourselves…our economy+expensive gadgets=a lot less expensive gadgets.  But, 10 years is a long ways off and who knows what the progress of tech will hold (I’m looking at you APPLE).  And of course, this is all assuming the world hasn’t ended yet.  With the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012 Microsoft might just be shooting for a date that will never exist.  Of course that’s if the Terminators don’t get us first.

I didn’t see the scene where mankind is ruled by talking chimpanzees, I assume that future is still going to happen.

Well there’s still a chance….I mean once we’re past the doomsday of 2012 and beating down the horror of the Robots with no souls, talking chimps will probably be all that’s left. And Dick Clark.
