Mighty Mutanimals Coming Back?

February 3, 2009

According to the Lavigne/Brown art blog Cowabunga Cartoon Classics!,  a project has been greenlit that will involve some of the character designs that never quite made it for the Mighty Mutanimals (TMNT spinoff) comic book series.  Very little has been confirmed about the details of the book other than that it will feature some unused designs from the heyday of Archie Comics-era TMNT/ Mighty Mutanimals.

Here are a few images of unused Mighty Mutanimals character designs that have surfaced in the past:

So who knows? It could be interesting. It’s always cool to see old designs dug up to see the light of day years later. Whether or not the comic will be connected to the old Mutanimals book or whether or it will be handled by Mirage or not is still unconfirmed.  However, it’s looking like it will not officially be connected to The Mighty Mutanimals or TMNT at all at this point.

For a bit more info on The Mighty Mutanimals, check out the wiki here or their official entry on NinjaTurtles.com here.
