EA continues job cuts

January 22, 2009

Announced back in December, Electronic Arts is looking to cut costs due to todays economy. Yesterday, the Orlando Sentinel reported that EA Tiburon (makers of Madden, Tiger Woods, etc) cut up to 650 jobs and today EA confirmed the layoff of 150-200 employees at Black Box Studios. Black Box recently have been working on and released Skate 2 this past week, but in my opinion they are best known for developing the fantastic Hitz and Slugfest games. I enjoyed the hell out of the Hitz series and hopefully we’ll see that come back (I doubt it considering it’s been years since a new one). So this just continues the ongoing layoffs/shutting down of many video game studios. Who’s next?
