Activision to no longer develop Tony Hawk video games.

Tony Hawk
In an article from last weeks Great Falls Tribune Activision founder Joel Jewett stated that the Tony Hawk franchise has been given to another developer.

“It’s probably best for the franchise … it’s time for someone else to add fresh ideas to it,” Jewett said.

The article goes on to discuss his founding of the company and everything he has done with Guitar Hero and other franchises. No word on what this will do to the status of the next Tony Hawk game that was announced by Activision last month.

I’m not surprised to see this happen as the previous few games have definitely done nothing to expand on the series and make it as innovative as it once was.
