Obama to Guest in a Spidey Comic

January 9, 2009

On Jan. 14, Marvel Comics is releasing a special issue of Amazing Spider-Man #583 with President-Elect Obama on the cover. Inside are five pages of the two teaming up and even a “fist-bump” between Spider-Man and the Obama.

From Marvel Editor-In-Chief Joe Quesada about Obama’s much rumored Spider-Fandom:

It was a natural after we learned the new president is a Spider-Man fan.We thought, ‘Fantastic! We have a comic-book geek in the White House.’

I thought Spidey was supposed to fight the Moslems, not be friends with them.

I think that it was because they had so much success with Baraka in the Mortal Combat vs. DC game, they figured that they might as well give him a shot at the Marvel Universe.

Surely, the Zombie Obama variant can’t be far behind, no?

… Or is it already here?

I assume this team up will end with Mephisto retconning the whole thing and no one will remember it happening. Ohh yeah and Flash Thompson will be missing his two legs.
