Well, maybe not the sun but we’re getting close.  3M has launched the first micro-projector available to consumers, dubbed the MPro 110.  While it doesn’t have the specs to be home theater worthy it’s still very impressive.  It boasts 1280×768 resolution, up to a 50″ screen size, a 10,000 hour LED bulb, and a built in rechargeable battery that will last up to 60 minutes.  More importantly it should be able to hook up to nearly any device that provides a video out.  Think how envious your neighbor on the plane will be when you’re watching your videos on the back of the fold down tray.  It might not be as flashy as some of the other prototypes out there, but 3M was first to mass produce a solid product and it can be yours for only $359.  They eventually plan to shrink these babies down to where they will fit into a cell phone.  Hello….Apple?  This is the future calling…..

This looks bad as hell. There are a lot of cool applications for something like this. The only problem will be when they are shrunk to fit into phones and every kid in America has one. It will be virtual graffiti all over the city.
