Rudy Ray Moore Dead at 81

October 20, 2008

It looks like the man who brought Dolemite to the big screen (or your dorm room TV screen) has passed away at 81.  He might not have been as prolific as Redd Foxx or Richard Pryor, but what he lacked in skill or social commentary he made up for with pure profanity.  The “king of the party albums” has a great back catalog you can find online, with titles too dirty to reprint on a family site such as this.  He also starred in several other fine films such as Disco Godfather and Petey Wheatstraw.  However, Dolemite is his true classic (watch for the boom mic’s appearance in the below clip, not an uncommon occurrence in his films).

You know that in heaven he’ll never have to wear no damn cotton drawers ever again.

And if he went to hell, he can always marry the devil’s ugly ass daughter and return to Earth.
