Activision announced today the first available songs for download, for PS3 and XB360, when Guitar Hero: World Tour launches on October 26th. Available within the first week of the game will be a track pack by REM featuring the songs “Horse to Water,” “Man-Sized Wreath” and “Supernatural Superserious.” Along with those songs will be three classic tracks, “Rock and Roll Band” by Boston, “Hot Blooded” by Foreigner and “Jessie’s Girl” by Rick Springfield. Continuing the great hits available, the original songs recorded for the boss battles for Ted Nugent and Zakk Wylde will also be available. Finally the hit “No Rain” by Blind Melon will also be available during the first week of release. Of course those of us who have downloaded the Death Magnetic album by Metallica (and I recommend you do) will be able to import the whole album for play during GH4 as well.
The REM and Classic Rock songs will be available for download in track packs or as individual tracks for a yet to be determined price, I assume it will be similar to what we pay now. The Blind Melon song will be available individually for a price, while the original boss battle songs will be available for free.
So a pretty solid first week of songs from Activision, I just hope that they will be able to be consistant on a weekly basis.
