Millar and Harris Snub Chicago for “Tour of Duty”

August 8, 2008

Mark Millar and Tony Harris are touring the world to celebrate the success of their recently launched superhero comic book, “War Heroes“, including stops in London, Los Angeles,  Charleston, New York, Dallas, and even Chandler, Az…but for some reason, Chicago did not make the list, causing Nerd City to wonder, “what the fuck?’

After all, Chicago is a big comic book town, playing host to the annual WizardWorld Convention, and providing support for dozens of comic book shops including established stores like Chicago Comics, Graham Crackers and Brainstorm, as well as numerous newcomers, including Vigilante Press and Challengers. Even Shadowline Comics, the Jim Valentino-run Image imprint, has a major representative who lives in Chicago. Yet still no visit. Why?

Chicago has been ignored as a premiere nerd town long enough. Frankly, we here at Nerd City are tired of the Windy City being picked last. Email Image and let them know we deserve to be included, because no one’s really going to be free until Chicago nerd persecution ends.
